Abstract

The aim of the study was to understand the urban Indian mindset towards health and wellness, across fitness, healthcare and food, and specifically with regard to managing Metabolic Syndrome and help provide a solution towards managing said conditions.

There are many factors that have influenced the opinion of urban Indian young adults about a healthy lifestyle. A mixed research approach was undertaken that helped understand what health and wellness means to the audience and what constitutes attaining or living this healthy lifestyle. This also led to understanding lifestyle choices, prioritisation, points of motivation and deterrents for an individual to stay on a healthy lifestyle.

The scope of this study was confined to day-to-day management of Metabolic Syndome (specifically Diabetes, Obesity and Hypertension). Any escalations in the condition, acute exacerbations or severe aggravations are not included within the scope of this study.

In the current Indian market, there is a lack of proactive management solutions.
This study is a design practice led approach aimed at easing the management of metabolic syndrome in a three fold manner: simple step by step interventions, specific insights into root causes of key concerns coupled with uniquely personalised changes and sustained habit changes.
